Wow! What can I say? Suddenly, I'm lost for words…

I spend most of my waking hours in my snug writing den at the side of the house. Surrounded by floor to ceiling bookshelves chock full of inspiration, with a window wall overlooking the garden, it's a pretty cool working environment. At least, it works for me anyway…

The Earthbound manuscripts came about in 2009 when I totally upheaved my life. Like taking a wad of paper and throwing it into the air, watching it all float to the earth and scatter around you — that was me.

I quit my career in business management and accounting, started yoga, and finally put pen to paper. I haven’t stopped since. I absolutely love it — the writing, editing, drawing inspiration, and all the amazing people I’ve met along the way.

Life is the adventure we choose to allow to unfold before us.

How Feather of a Storm grew

I had a dream that I died. A recurring dream actually, every few nights, the same dream. I died — over and over. It really shook me, until mid last year when I realized it wasn't actually a dream of my death (I hope! I was several years older) — it was about a character in a book I was to write.

That was the first of many dreams. All different, all expressed in their own way — characters, forming in my subconscious.

I began to write them down.

Then the conversations started. The characters met and they wouldn't shut up! I would wake in the night with Liv and Jack's banter, Gil's deep chortling laugh, Evi's chirpy voice. I scribbled down every conversation, every joke, and every snide remark.

At first it felt like dribble. The characters were so freaking real to me but the picture unclear, not really coming together. I persevered, unsure what I was really doing.

When I discovered yoga, everything changed. The dialogue, the dreams, the story — it all began to form. Everything started to connect, falling into place on the pages. I realized my love of writing and wanted to share these special characters and their story.

And so, Feather of a Storm was born, growing and changing a little every day.
